Looking Back (1990)
I dusted off an old videotape
And was granted a look into the past.
My flickering image in black and white.
Greenish, blurry days gone by.
I sat in amazement and smiled in wonder.
How could the video have changed so much?
It wasn’t at all like the days I remembered.
It wasn’t as good as my good old days.
I sat the tape back in its place.
On the shelf, alone, to dust once more.
Given the choice, I have to say,
I prefer my nostalgia to any facts.
