To a Special Girl (1987)
I sit and watch you from far away.
Your fluid grace
Your dancing eyes
Your gentle smile
Why can’t I tell you the way I feel?
Sometimes I’m near you.
In the class, or in the halls
Easy to approach, difficult to engage
Conversation is only a word away.
My mind screams out; you cannot hear
For my mouth is independent and afraid.
You continue alone.
What’s wrong with me?
I dream of a day when the fear is gone.
And I am able to speak.
Your dancing eyes on mine
Your smile is for me
When will it come?
In the meantime, I sit and watch.
A nameless shadow, a guardian
A friend you don’t know you have.
Silently thinking
Hoping
Wondering
Do you ever think of me?
omg beautiful… I really enjoyed it. It felt sincere and definitely romantic. Choice of words were perfect. No word wasted
nicely expressed because it’s sincere and romantic.I bet many ‘ve undergone the same expereince
